Europe and America

These travel pages cover my journeys in the first half of 2001, starting off on New Year's Eve 2000. They give you personal pictures and commentary on locations in Europe and America. But they also reflect the period that came between the Bush takeover and the catastrophe of 11 September, which already saw a widening Atlantic gap.



Whitehall, London, Saturday 15 February 2003: a few of the million marching to oppose war on Iraq. By February 2003, the United States government was widely distrusted by the general public in British and other European countries.
