A walk from south to west Oxford

We continue from the previous page, following the Thames upstream under the main railway just south of Oxford station.
The towpath is part of the Thames Path which runs from the Thames Barrier at Silvertown up to the source near Swindon.
Looking back, a train passes over the bridge. The Osney industrial estate lies adjacent to the path, but behind a barrier of trees.
Boat moorings and Osney docks.
The two-hundred-year old Osney Lock: now we are in West Oxford.

It's about 9 a.m. in New York now, but this is England.

And as we found out later, the British government used this beautiful calm day to prepare its 'dossier' on Iraq's imaginary weapons, employing every shady trick of hype and advertising copywriting so as to justify the invasion that had already been decided upon. See the 2004 comment of the chief British analyst, whose views were shoved aside: Brian Jones
